Meet the Opticians
Angie Brandon - Support
Angie grew up in a small Wisconsin town near the Mississippi River, and the Badger State has always held a special place in her heart. She met Dr. Brandon in her teens, and the high school sweethearts married during his final year of optometry school. In 1999, the couple embarked on a new adventure, moving to the Middleton and Madison area to open their first clinic and establish the foundation of Brandon Eyes.
In the practice’s earlier years, Angie worked hands-on in the office and was affectionately known as the friendly face running the beloved "Happy Hut." While she has transitioned away from daily on-site clinical operations, today Angie serves as a vital pillar of the practice's remote support structure. Dedicated to fostering a warm, family-oriented work environment, she brings "rays of sunshine" and positivity to our team meetings. Angie is also a remarkably talented baker who personally ensures every team member feels celebrated by handcrafting irresistible, custom baked goods for each staff member's birthday.
Outside of her behind-the-scenes role, Angie is a proud mom to her three sons—Luke, Evan, and Alex. She and Dr. Brandon love living in the Madison area, taking in the magnificent local sights, and enjoying quality time together as a family
Judit, ABOC - Optical Manager
Judit grew up in the Chicago area, and always had a strong interest in the medical field. After graduating with a Medical Assistant degree, Judit and her husband and her kids decided to move up to the Madison area.
She has been working in the optical field for years, obtaining her ABOC early on. She looks forward to learning something new every day and is fascinated by how the eyes work, and how vision is affected and corrected.
Sarah - Optician
Sarah has been a part of the Brandon Eyes family since early 2015. She has a background in retail and library sciences, and holds a Bachelor's degree in English. She loves to work with people, and is always ready to learn something new.
When Sarah isn't working, she's spending time with her husband and their families and friends. She loves cats and dogs, watching TV, baking, going on photography hikes, and she loves to curl up with a good book.
Ben, ABOC - Optical Manager
Ben grew up in Edgerton, Wisconsin, and transitioned to the optical field five years ago in search of a dynamic, problem-solving environment where he could make a tangible difference in people's lives. Embracing the challenge with no prior formal training, Ben learned the industry from the ground up, ultimately achieving his American Board of Opticianry Certification (ABOC). Today, he proudly serves as an Optical Manager at Brandon Eyes, combining technical expertise with a passion for continuous professional development.
Ben loves the daily puzzle of troubleshooting complex prescriptions and finding the perfect match of frame and lens technology for our patients. For Ben, nothing beats the feeling of helping patients overcome visual challenges and seeing their quality of life immediately improve with a fresh set of lenses.
When he isn't managing the optical floor, Ben is a dedicated Wisconsin sports fan, cheering on the Packers, Badgers, and Bucks. He enjoys unwinding with video games, books, TV shows, and practicing his hand at photography and videography. Ben loves spending his free time with his wife, Ashley, and their two cats, Theon and Felix.
Jamie - Remote Support
Jamie lives outside of Madison in a small rural town where she was born and raised on her family farm. She is the youngest of 5 siblings, following her two older sisters footsteps who worked at Brandon Eyes in previous years.
She recently graduated high school and is looking forward to her future at Brandon Eyes and helping you with your eye care needs. When she is not in the office you can find her in a coffee shop with friends or outdoors, kayaking, hiking and just enjoying rural Wisconsin with her fiancé Mason.
Karley - Optician
Karley was born in Madison and has ventured all over Wisconsin growing up. She recently has moved back towards Madison for work. Since then she started working for Brandon eyes, she has always had a passion for helping people and is looking forward to her future at Brandon eyes.
When Karley is not at work she enjoys spending her time doing artsy activities, going hiking, photography, going on mini trips on the motorcycle, spending time with her friends and going camping.
Rith - Remote Support
Rith (he/she) grew up in North Central Wisconsin before migrating south to Madison. Joining the Brandon Eyes team in March of 2023, she was eager to use her years of customer service experience in a new context. Rith enjoys working with people, and he appreciates the depth of interactions this job encourages.
When not at work, Rith spends her time watching movies and TV, pretending to play guitar, and making cooking more complicated than it needs to be. Rith also dreams of one day being best friends with a dog.
Alex Y. - Optician
Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, Alex moved to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned degrees in Linguistics and Communication Sciences & Disorders. After gaining valuable experience across both retail and hospital eyecare settings, Alex joined the Brandon Eyes team with a deep passion for patient-centered care. He loves applying his clinical background to help patients navigate their visual needs and feel completely confident in their eyewear.
Outside of the clinic, Alex is an accomplished musician who writes and performs as a violinist and flutist with local orchestras and symphonies. In his free time, he also enjoys traveling, gaming, and hanging out with friends.
Claire - Optician
Originally from Fremont, Wisconsin, Claire now calls Madison home after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bringing a strong background in customer care to the Brandon Eyes team, she loves getting to know patients personally and guiding them toward the perfect eyewear to fit their unique style and personality.
Outside of the clinic, Claire enjoys staying active through dancing, discovering new local coffee shops around Madison, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
Alex B. - Optician
Alex was born and raised right here in Middleton, Wisconsin, where he has lived all his life. Having been surrounded by the eye care and medical fields since childhood, Alex developed an early appreciation for patient care and is excited to officially begin his professional journey at Brandon Eyes. He loves working closely with patients on the optical floor, bringing a friendly, dedicated approach to solving any vision or styling challenges that may arise.
In his free time, Alex stays active by going to the gym and hiking. He also enjoys unwinding by watching his favorite TV shows, playing video games, and spending quality time with his family.
Andrea - Optician
Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Andrea moved to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology. While preparing for her next steps in higher education, Andrea brings her scientific background and passion for design to the Brandon Eyes team. She loves working one-on-one with patients to select frame options that reflect their personal style, complement their daily routine, and feel effortless to wear.
Outside of the clinic, Andrea is an avid traveler who loves exploring new cultures abroad. Her favorite trip so far was a visit to London, and she is eager to explore more of Europe and Asia in the coming year!
Evan - Optician
As the middle son of Dr. Brandon, Evan grew up with a front-row seat to the practice and developed an early appreciation for quality eyecare and personal patient service. Today, as an optician at Brandon Eyes, Evan loves working one-on-one with patients to help them select frame options that complement their personal style, fit their daily lifestyle, and feel great to wear.
When not at Brandon Eyes, Evan stays active at the gym, plays guitar, and is a big music enthusiast. In his free time, you’ll usually find him exploring new local restaurants around Madison or spending time with friends.
